Sales Manager

Job Description

T.L Shield & Associates (TLS) has an exciting opening for a Sales Manager to join their team in San Fernando, California. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overall sales growth and profitability goals for the Company for Commercial Construction. This individual will manage 5 direct reports, new business opportunities, and provide on-the ground support for sales associates as they generate sales leads and project manage elevator construction projects. You will maintain client focused objectives, while maximizing revenue and profitability through a value driven sales approach and collaborate with the team as needed to win projects, increase revenue and reduce operating cost. The ideal candidate will be able to expertly manage projects and team members.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drives the focus on selling highly profitable, executable and convertible projects and fostering relationships with key customers, developers, general contractors, building owners, consultants, engineers and architects.  Supports a culture of safety throughout the organization and stresses the importance of safety to all employees.
  • Implements sales Initiatives and drives focus and executuion of company CRM.
  • Drives branding and marketing strategy with Marketing Director and President.
  • Leads sales presentations, conducts employee reviews, and fosters environment for growth. Mentors, trains and develops the sales team and conducts factory tours.
  • Analyzes financials and reports to accurately forecast booking activity on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Represents the company in professional organizations.
  • Manages project management with excellent follow up and a client focused mentality.
  • Develop business sales strategies to market to and obtain new territory customers and expand network with primary focus on closing modular elevator deals and propose customized solutions for customer needs.  Responsible for qualifying sales leads/opportunities
  • Conduct prospecting calls and meetings with potential new customers identified through means such as leads delivered through Website/CRM, referrals, and developed sales strategies.
  • Effectively communicate TLS value proposition to customers.
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with the Office support staff, Sales Manager, Sales team, and Field technicians.
  • Proactively manage relationships with customers, and independently drive account needs or problems through resolution.  Enhance the overall customer service experience.
  • Maintain .Point-Of-Contact status for TLS customers and work with crossfunctional team members to resolve customer issues.
  • Achieve daily, monthly, and quarterly KPI metrics.
  • Uncover ways to raise brand awareness for TLS’s product portfolio and gain account intelligence for new/existing accounts.
  • Effectively utilize (CRM) application to document outreach efforts, account     management plans, next steps/actions, and leads/opportunity notes.  Communicate delivery needs promptly and accurately to the proper TLS employees.
  • Maintain Compliance in accordance with all policies and procedures, and TLS’s Core Values.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or a related field preferred.  Minimum 5 years of demonstrated successful sales management experience within construction industry and/or similar.
  • Strong proficiency in Satesforce, ZoHo or other CRM.
  • Proficiency with MS Office/Excel/Word/Outlook/Adobe  Demonstrated contract negotiating and closing experience.
  • Strong demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Professional presentation skills to include PowerPoint & marketing tools, preparing proposals, and public speaking.
  • Ability to operate efficiently in team environment.
  • Solid industry knowledge to include competitors, manufacturers, current trends.
  • Proven experience in forecasting & budgeting.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with employees, senior leadership, customers, and stakeholders in person, virtually, and by phone.  Ability to sit, stand, walk about construction sites and other work environments.
  • Lifting or pushing 10 to 25 pounds is often required.
  • Occasional overnight travel required.
  •  Valid driver’s license required. Clean driving record.

Elevator Technician

Duties and responsibilities

  • Read blueprints to determine the equipment needed for installation or repair
  • Knowledge of electronics
  • Install or repair elevator doors, cables, motors, and control systems
  • Locate malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and control systems etc.
  • Use test equipment, such as ammeters, voltmeters, and other test equipment considered tools of the trade to diagnose problems
  • Adjust counterweights, door mechanisms, and safety controls
  • Test newly installed equipment to ensure that it meets specifications
  • Comply with safety regulations and building codes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with good time management skills

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Elevator Technician degree or Elevator Mechanic License
  • Industrial/Electrical/Mechanical field, technical diploma or related field, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.

Environmental Demands:

  • Physical Requirements Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, climb ladders, and walk beams. Must be able to lift and carry tools and materials weighing in excess of 50 pounds and be able to raise and carry with assistance items weighing 200 pounds. Must be able to work from high ladders and scaffolding. Must be able to work safely in close proximity to moving and working equipment.
  • Work Environment May work in dusty and dirty places such as elevator shafts, and pits or other mechanical spaces where temperatures may exceed 100 and equipment may be oily and greasy.
